This video was produced by participants who took part in a series of media literacy workshops offered to community groups in English-speaking communities throughout Quebec. Citizenshift visited 5 regions - Gaspésie, the Magdalen Islands, the Eastern Townships, Outaouais and Kanesatake - to present a one-day workshop presenting an educative approach to media literacy as well as a hands-on workshop in basic video production and editing. This video is the result - a first foray, for many of the participants - into the world of media creation, produced with the basic tools on hand. Participants were encouraged to take up subjects that were pertinent to their communities or to themselves personally.
These workshops were organized with the generous collaboration of the Quebec English Literacy Alliance, CEDEC, and Heritage Canada.
