Dan Eiffe is an Irishman who has spent 31 years in Africa and defender of human rights in both South Africa during the height of Apartheid and since 1988 in Sudan. He was formerly a Catholic priest then worked for Accord and with Norweigian People's Aid (NPA),which is the largest NGO in Sudan and was the first organization to take a political stance in support for the South.
As program director at NPS, Dan Eiffe took a strong advocacy, political and humanitarian role in Sudan. He got very involved in the politics of Sudan and got nicknamed within the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) 'Commander Dan' for being so closely related to the rebel cause. He is publisher of Sudan Mirror.
Martin Luther brought church abuses to light and initiated the Protestant Reformation through his 95 updates (theses), and Thomas Paine spread his blog (printed pamphlets) about democracy to the masses in the ramp up to the American Revolution.
For many years of his actions and undoubted support for the people and politics in South Sudan, Dan Eiffe has gone down the annal of history of South Sudanese people and political movement that engineered freedom through the participation of Southernres. Many fallen heroes, had died appreciating the huge contribution of our Commander Dan of NPA. He has shown the world what people South Sudanese, were, are and will be. I have not one day seen Dan, but have felt him through his unwavering support he had offered us. May Almighty God save him and give him more blessed efforts to ontinue showering the world with his good deeds amen.
