Adeson composed his song, “Why you call me MaKwereKwere?” (‘MaKwereKwere’ being the derogatory name given to foreigners by South Africans) 6 years ago, long before the wave of xenophobic violence in South Africa in May 2008 scattered the country’s landscape with refugee camps and caused the world to question the 'Rainbow’ in the Rainbow Nation. Adeson’s song, story, insights and passion-filled music promote a message of African unity.
Official selection of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's Radio Canada International (RCI) for participation in the international online competition Migr@tions (2008), and as part of a Special Project presented at the Montreal World Film Festival (2008), Calgary International Film Festival (2008), Fredericton, New Brunswick's Silverware Film Festival (2008) and Montreal's international pan-african festival Vues D'Afrique (2009).
