Project Media: One of the main objectives to this project was to link participants to existing services within their community. How have the participants and community benefitted?

 

OUR YOUTH:

• Participated in a variety of youth forums such as-community planning CJE, Marlene Jennings-forum on citizen engagement, and a forum in Cote de Neiges..

• Helped mobilize community for garden project (St. Raymond Residents Association) revitalization of neighbourhood • Laid stones for terrace to hold future activities in garden (intergenerational/multicultural)

• Helped NDG Food Depot with food distribution and reorganizing of space to better serve the community

• Cooked collectively for Dining Coop (MUCS) using some of the recuperated food from Zero Food Waste Initiative

• Attended workshop on starting your own business and coop (CDEC)

• Helped raise funds for a community radio station (CKUT)

• Learned about healthy dietary habits nutritional workshops (Nutritional specialist-Sonia Hambleton)

• Participated in workshops in boundaries/conflict and anger management (Head and Hands)

• Attended community events-BBQ with other youth on similar projects, hip hop show put on by local artists

• Interviewed community activists/artists who are working in their respective fields

• Collectively produced two 4 X 6 ft paintings based on a community theme and attended workshops on graffiti and art in public places. (MU-ART)

• Participated in workshops and special activities with a community animator in French. (CREP) .
